About Us

Our family business was established in 1997 and since then, we have seen many changes in both our business and the seed grading industry.

Demand for efficiency and quality has been one of the greatest factors in the evolution of our business from our early beginnings with 3 rotary screen seed graders. Quality, efficiency and innovation have always been at the forefront of our minds and 2005 saw the greatest change in our business to date - we took delivery of our first high capacity Edmonds style seed grader, which saw superior efficiency, better quality seed samples and treatments.

While effectively doubling our productivity, quality was one thing that has never been compromised. 2008 saw the introduction of our high capacity multi-purpose grain screener designed and manufactured by Jeff. Initially designed to reduce both screenings and improve retention in cereals, the screener has been used to remove dirt, stones and rocks, locusts, straw and other admixtures as well as reduce screenings from a variety of cereals and pulse crops.

2010 saw the expansion of Townrow Quality Seed Grading Service after taking delivery of our second Edmonds style machine and Jeff’s son Clay returning to the business full time.

2016 added another dynamic to our seed grading fleet. A new Edmonds seed grader that can grade and treat seed at up to 35 tonne per hour. A newly designed Westrup air screen deck allows greater capacity to be achieved as well as a larger NoroGard seed treater giving superior seed coverage. This machine was awarded first prize at the Elmore Field Days in the "Machine Of The Year" category.

2017 brought on a role reversal in our business. Clay took over the business from Jeff after 19 years of operation. Jeff is still responsible for the organisation of the work and will remain very active within the business.

Now entering our 20th season, our aim to provide our customers with the highest quality seed samples possible has not changed. We continually refine our methods with both on the job experience and changes in seed grading technologies to provide you with the most efficient and highest quality service that you have come to know and expect from our business.
